Is Pastebin encrypted?+
Pastebin does not document client-side or end-to-end encryption for paste content. Its terms say Pastebin needs rights to store, parse, display, copy, index, and analyze content to provide the service, and its private-paste terms allow employee access in defined support, security, antifraud, and legal-compliance cases. textdrop.sh encrypts every paste with AES-256-GCM in your browser before upload; password-protected pastes keep the raw key and password out of the server request.
Does Pastebin have ads?+
Yes. Pastebin's free experience is ad-supported, and Pastebin's privacy statement describes third-party network advertising. Pastebin PRO removes ads, but the PRO page currently says PRO accounts are sold out. textdrop.sh has no ads on any tier.
Can I use Pastebin without an account?+
You can create basic pastes without an account. Guests can create up to 10 pastes per 24 hours and cannot create private pastes. Free members can create up to 20 pastes per 24 hours and are limited to 10 unlisted and 10 private pastes. textdrop.sh requires no account.

Pastebin PRO, their paid tier that removes ads and increases limits, is currently listed as sold out. Features like Markdown support, folder organization, and higher limits remain PRO features and may be unavailable to new buyers while PRO is sold out.
