textdrop.sh
Terms of Service
Effective date: May 10, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using textdrop.sh ("the Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service Does
textdrop.sh is a text sharing tool. Pastes are encrypted in your browser before being stored. Non-password pastes store the data key server-side for simple sharing and raw text access. For password-protected pastes, the raw data key is wrapped with a key derived from your password client-side, and your password is never transmitted to or stored by the server.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to share:
- Content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in the United States
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits minors
- Malware, ransomware, phishing pages, or other malicious code
- Credentials, private keys, or other secrets that could enable unauthorized access to systems you do not own
- Spam or content designed to harass, threaten, or dox individuals
We may rate limit, block, remove, or disable access to content or traffic that appears to violate these terms or harm the Service. If you become aware of content that violates these terms, report it to abuse@textdrop.sh.
4. No Guarantee of Availability or Durability
Pastes expire based on the TTL you select at creation time. We make no guarantee that pastes will be available for any duration, that the Service will remain online, or that stored data will not be lost. Do not rely on textdrop.sh as a primary storage medium.
5. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the content you paste. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and transmit your encrypted content solely as required to operate the Service.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service is error-free or that any encryption implementation is free of vulnerabilities.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Empowered Technology LLC and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
